Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in the following ways:
Your prescription will be ready for collection 36 hours later if you collect your medicines from the Practice. If you collect from a pharmacy, please ask them for their current processing times. Please remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
Claire Oliver is the Pharmacy Technician at the Practice and will be happy to help if you have any queries.
The Practice can dispense prescriptions for patients living more than 1.6 kilometres from a Pharmacy between the hours of 08:30 and 18:30 Monday to Friday.
Should you require repeat medication urgently when the surgery is closed, or have a query regarding your medication, please call 111 and you will automatically be transferred to the 111 service who will assist you.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to have a consultation with a Practice clinical Pharmacist, a Doctor, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner or a practice Nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.
A notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
If a patient doesn't have a medication review you may only receive a small supply of your prescription and will be asked to book an appointment for a review before you request any further medication.
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.
